July, 2021 Baby Animals Quilt

June and July have been busy months! I have developed a new quilt design and made the first baby quilt from it! It is so cute! I have to sew the binding by hand on the back of the quilt. I used my new Baby Animals Minky by Quilting Treasures on the back—so soft and cuddly, not to mention beautiful for a child! I plan to write a pattern for my quilt design and teach it in a quilt class this Fall. I will also add the new pattern to my website by Fall. I will be making more quilts with it, such as a lap quilt featuring my unicorn collection by Benartex. I also want to make it using butterflies as the main theme. So much to create and sew, so little time!!

Beginning the week of July 18, I started making new items for my website—darling zippered cases which are like mini duffle bags in my way of thinking! They are so versatile with many uses. Ladies can store makeup and keep one in a purse. Use them for traveling to store items in a suitcase. Put sewing notions in them so you know where to find the thread, scissors, pins, thimble, etc., when you are working on a sewing project. I am having fun choosing fabrics for these “bags” (another term I call them!). I use batting as a filler and to provide body between the layers in these mini duffle bags. Check them out in the Accessories category at www.qpatchu.com.
