FEBRUARY 19, 2022 New Laurel Burch Fiesta Horses

2022 is already flying by! Here it is mid-February, and I am finally sitting down to write on my blog! My website and my quilting projects have kept me fairly busy! Quilt kits are popular, and when I run out of them, I have to make more to keep on hand.

I joined a long-distance friend via texts in making the Exploding Hearts quilt-along with Laura Piland, who designed the pattern and had a weekly quilt along blog for 6 weeks about making it. The quilt-along ended right before Valentine’s Day, and I was nowhere near finished! I got a late start because the QAL had already begun when I found out about it. I am still arranging rows and sewing them two at a time. It will be beautiful when completed! This project got me out of the post-Christmas rut that I fell into! Now my friend and I are comparing notes on our progress in making this quilt. Both of us are beginning to sew the rows together. We stimulate each other so our work will continue to progress and not become a UFO, which in quilt jargon is unfinished object—quilt project!

I am excited because this week I received my Laurel Burch Fiesta Horses order from Clothworks and patterns from Quilting Renditions to make new quilt kits! The fabrics are absolutely beautiful! I love Laurel Burch fabrics, and I’m not alone! The colors are so vivid, and the designs are enchanting! Laurel Burch fabrics are that way, and they promote feelings of happiness and joy! Just looking at a quilt with Laurel Burch fabrics makes me feel happy! Now I want to stop everything and make a quilt with Fiesta Horses! There are two kit choices—Two by Four, and in Frame. Kari Nichols, who owns Quilting Renditions, told me that she designed her In Frame pattern specifically for the Fiesta Horses collection. I want to make both quilts! I may find myself cutting out the pieces for Two by Four while still working on the Exploding Hearts quilt! That’s how exciting the Fiesta Horses fabrics are! After you read this blog, hop over to Quilt Kits on my website and check out the two Fiesta Horses kits!

I hope some my blog readers will respond to my blog and write about what you find delightful in our world of creating, sewing, and quilting!
